Weave is growing the Frontend Operations team and seeking a collaborative and adaptable Senior Frontend Platform Engineer. In this position you will take charge of frontend development by optimizing processes, enhancing security, and fostering innovation. You will collaborate closely with developers to drive productivity and shape the future of frontend development at Weave.
Our ideal candidate can work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to achieve common goals. They are capable of translating complex technical topics into clear and concise explanations for diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders. In addition, are comfortable working in ambiguous environments and able to navigate uncertainty with resilience and composure.
Reports to: Software Engineering Manager
What You Will Own
Maintaining CI/CD pipelines for frontend web and Electron desktop applications.
Maintaining our Frontend monorepo (NX).
Improving developer experience and velocity for frontend developers.
Working with other development teams to help them improve their processes and best practices.
What You Will Need to Accomplish the Job
5+ years of experience in a software development discipline
Scripting experience for Mac, Linux and Windows environments
Github actions or other CI/CD tooling experience
Frontend tooling experience with Typescript, Vite (or other build system) and testing frameworks
Experience with application packaging, auto-updates and installers
What Will Make Us Love You
Knowledge of best practices for certificates and security for desktop applications
Experience with Kubernetes or other containerized deployment environments
Willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies and methodologies
Ability to communicate highly technical information to a more general audience
Ability to break down a project from broad concept to specific requirements
