ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Front End Web Developer on the marketing team, you will be instrumental in shaping our corporate online presence and driving lead generation efforts through our website. You will oversee the development and maintenance of our corporate website, marketing landing pages, and website resource center. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and adherence to best practices for website accessibility and regulatory legal compliance.

Reporting to the Lead, Visual Design, the successful candidate for this position will be someone who thrives when working independently (as the only web dev on an energetic and thriving marketing team), is confident in their skills and decision making, and loves collaborating across multiple departments across a business.

Corporate Website & Landing Page Development:

• Lead the design and development of our corporate website, including coding and implementing designs.

• Create engaging marketing landing pages and emails to support lead generation initiatives.

• Develop and integrate lead generation forms to connect with Salesforce.

• Implement & maintain website performance and traffic tracking mechanisms.

Website Performance, Accessibility & Compliance:

• Ensure the website complies with accessibility standards such as AODA and WCAG.

• Monitor and optimize website performance for speed and user experience.

• Collaborate with Operations, Legal, and IT/Security teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Other Additional Projects:

• Lead the implementation of a Content Management System (CMS) for efficient website management.

• Handle additional coding projects as required, including emails and specialty channel requests (eg. coding a countdown clock).

Development Skills:

• Utilize React.js to develop new user-facing features.

• Build reusable and scalable front-end components and libraries.

• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.

• Optimize components for maximum performance across various devices and browsers.

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of static site builders, such as Gatsby JS

• Understanding or experience integrating/building CMS

• Understanding of SEO practices

YOU ARE SOMEONE WITH:

• 4+ years of experience as a professional web developer.

• Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML5/CSS3, and TypeScript.

• Strong understanding of web application security and vulnerability mitigation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with AI tools and technologies is a plus.
